Ontario PC’s Lead Rally Demanding eHealth Inquiry
Several hundred Ontario residents rally in Windsor
NEWS
Earlier this evening, PC MPPs Toby Barrett (Haldimand-Norfolk) and Bob Bailey (Sarnia-Lambton) led a rally of several hundred residents from across Ontario, demanding a full public inquiry into Dalton McGuinty’s $1-billion eHealth scandal. McGuinty has refused to hold a full inquiry and Liberal MPPs have blocked opposition attempts to call those responsible before Legislative Committee.
As the rally progressed around the site of the McGuinty Liberals’ annual general meeting in Windsor, neighbouring residents from apartment buildings along the route, along with passing drivers shouted their support for a full public inquiry.
QUOTES
“It tells you something that people from all across Ontario joined Windsor residents to demand answers on McGuinty’s $1-billion scandal. Dalton McGuinty thinks this is over – but clearly the people of Ontario haven’t forgotten about his eHealth scandal.”
– Toby Barrett, MPP (Haldimand-Norfolk)
“Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals have refused to shine a light on what really happened at eHealth. The Auditor General only had the mandate to follow the money to the door, but he couldn’t open the door. This makes the Liberal AdScam look tiny in comparison. We need a public inquiry into eHealth.”
– Bob Bailey, MPP (Sarnia-Lambton)
QUICK FACTS
· George Smitherman has escaped any scrutiny of his 5 years overseeing eHealth, while $837 million was spent.
· While in opposition, Dalton McGuinty called for a public inquiry 17 times.
