Barrett salutes Ontario’s
Cattlemen in Ontario Legislature
Warns government to be careful on careless regulations
Queen’s Park—MPP Toby Barrett
used a statement in the Ontario Legislature today to urge the provincial
government to respect Ontario’s Cattlemen, along with all farmers,
when using regulatory power.
“Ontario’s Cattlemen –
and all farmers – need the respect of their provincial government,”
Barrett continued. “With the endless rules and regulations and red
tape, the forms to fill out and paper work, the Cattlemen are calling
on this government to do a full regulatory impact analysis on regulations
prior to the regulations being created.”
Barrett made his remarks while saluting
the Ontario Cattlemen’s Association, in preparation for the annual
beef barbeque and lobby day.
“Support our cattle farmers,”
Barrett concluded in the Legislature. “Support our family farms
– tomorrow, and everyday for that matter.”
