Barrett returns to Environment Critic shift

(Simcoe, ON) - Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett says his appointment as Opposition Environment Critic means he will continue to hold the McGuinty Government to account on decisions and policy impacting our surroundings while focussing on the rural and other local concerns of area residents.

Barrett commented following the John Tory announcement of several changes to critic portfolios to re-align Progressive Conservative Caucus members with the government's new ministerial portfolios.

"As a former Parliamentary Assistant and a former Opposition Critic to Environment I look forward to ensuring the government protects our environment based on science and research." Barrett attested. "My work on the environment file will dovetail with the ongoing focus I have on agriculture and natural resources issues as well as local concerns like energy, transportation and area land issues."
