Have your say on Ontario’s budget
MPP Barrett invites presenters to pre-budget consultations

(Simcoe) – Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett is encouraging concerned taxpayers to raise their voice when government holds pre-budget consultations throughout the province next month.

“After effectively gagging dissent with minimal hearings on its despised HST gambit, the government majority cannot duck it’s obligation to hear from the people of Ontario at mandated pre-budget consultations,” Barrett stated. “Ontarians across the province should grab this opportunity to get the government’s ear before the earplugs are inserted once again.”

The Finance & Economic Affairs Committee will be holding pre-budget consultations in the new year as follows:

January 25 – Niagara Falls
January 26 – London
January 27 – Dryden
January 28 – North Bay
January 29 – Kingston
February 1, 2 & 3 – Toronto

All those wishing to appear before the Committee should contact the Finance Committee Clerk at 416-325-3883 by 4 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.

The deadline for written submissions is 5 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2010.
