MPP Barrett pays tribute to Cullimore and Lightning
Queen’s Park –
Norfolk County will soon be welcoming home another Stanley Cup champion.
“On June 7th, while much
of Canada was fired up about the Calgary Flames playing in game seven
of the Stanley Cup finals, many of my constituents were cheering on Tampa
Bay and Jassen Cullimore as he manned the blue line for the Lightning,”
Haldimand-Norfolk-Brant MPP Toby Barrett told members of the Ontario Legislature
today.
“Despite a tough series
and a storm of activity in the dying seconds of the game, Cullimore and
his team were able to clinch a 2-1 win. As a result, the Stanley Cup will
once again be coming to my riding.”
Barrett went on to say that
championship hockey players are not unique to the riding of Haldimand-Norfolk-Brant
and mentioned names like Red Kelly, Chico Maki, Rick Walmsley, Rob Blake
and Becky Kellar.
MPP Barrett concluded his remarks
in the Ontario Legislature by saying: “To Jassen and the rest of
the Tampa Bay Lightning, congratulations – we look forward to seeing
you and the NHL’s most coveted prize.”
