Tory team announces strong and united caucus will aggressively hold McGuinty
Liberals to account
Queen’s Park –
John Tory today announced the team of caucus critics that will hold Dalton
McGuinty accountable for his string of broken promises.
“All caucus members will
play an active role,” Tory said. “We will leave no stone unturned
in protecting the pocketbooks of Ontarians.”
Tory has appointed Elizabeth
Witmer the Deputy Leader and Caucus Chair. Bob Runciman will act as the
Interim Leader of the Opposition.
Tory has appointed Jim Flaherty
as the Finance Critic, drawing on his extensive experience and knowledge
in that area. Frank Klees will similarly take on an important leadership
role as the Party’s Education Critic.
Tory has also given the challenge
of holding Health Minister George Smitherman to account to John Baird,
and Erie-Lincoln MPP Tim Hudak will shadow the Ministry of Infrastructure
and Municipal Affairs. Ernie Hardeman remains Ag Critic and Toby Barrett
will continue to serve as Environment Critic and share the task of Deputy
Whip with colleague Ted Chudleigh.
