Delhi Health Centre receives RED funding
Simcoe – The Delhi Community
Health Centre will receive $498,596 to better serve 30,000 citizens in
the west of Norfolk County.
The money, delivered under
the Rural Economic Development (RED) program will help support five physicians,
a lab and pharmacy as well as the operation of the walk-in clinic.
“I know that this application
process has been in the works for a long time and stems back a few years,”
said Haldimand-Norfolk-Brant MPP Toby Barrett. “It goes to show
that persistence and patience sometimes pays off. I congratulate folks
like Patti Moore, John Stanczyk and Karon Firmani for all of their hard
work.”
The RED program, established
by the former government, is designed to improve and grow strong rural
economies, create a healthy social climate as well as support a clean
and healthy environment.
“This money will go a
long way in helping to attract and maintain physicians and will provide
a variety of services closer to home for many,” Barrett said.
