Barrett speaks up for Caledonia families
Says ‘forgotten families’ need communication from government
Queen’s Park—MPP Toby Barrett spoke up for the local families that are impacted by the land dispute, during Question Period today at the Legislature.
“On Friday, we knocked on doors in the Caledonia subdivision adjacent to the occupied site,” Barrett told the Legislature. “You will know the turmoil and the tension within those families, within that subdivision.”
“In spite of your government’s spin, the barricades are still up,” Barrett added. “And life is much worse than it was on February 28.”
Barrett and his staff spent Friday knocking on doors and communicating with local residents that have been impacted by the land dispute. Their concerns were the source material for his remarks in the Legislature.
“Have any members of your government been to Caledonia to communicate with these forgotten families?” Barrett asked the Acting Premier. “Or, do you just hope they will just quietly go away?”
